About Me and Mister C…
Me (Ing) lives in Goulburn, NSW (Australia); with her husband, two daughters and Mister C (Carter). They have numerous chickens, two dogs, two pairs of painted finches and numerous wild animals that like to visit on a regular basis: including various wild birds, possums, lizards, and delightful tree frogs. Ing is also a registered nurse, who works in private nursing in her local town. Pastimes include painting and illustrating, playing board games with her family; and of course, lots of writing on their blog website and zany Mister C stories…
Through personal experiences of raising my own three children, and having a background as a registered nurse working with both families and older persons, starting school can be a stressful and emotional time, for not only children but also for parents. Both of my two older daughters wanted to start school, and had always looked forward to the next growing-up steps and attended school with little stress. However, my youngest son, Carter (Mister C) did not want to go to school. A near-miss incident involving my son occurred around the time of his Kindergarten orientation, that soon lead to our path and journey through research and assessments; all the while trying to find age-appropriate picture/story-books to assist in our situation. With little success on finding current and appropriate literature, Mister C jumped around one afternoon and said, “Well, Mummy, let’s create our own story-book about me not wanting to go to the big school! Maybe my friends and other children might like it too?”
Thanks for checking out our website (and blogs); Me and Mister C are passionate about children’s books and it is our wish to ensure all children have access to books and different types of children’s stories, including real life images and themes. We have recently published our fifth children’s book.
