Flossy’s Poem Corner…

Duggie, My Wonder Dog

Written by Flossy, April 2019 (Aged 10, nearly 11!)

My dog’s name is Duggie,

he’s actually quite old.

But just because he’s old,

he has a little puppy’s soul.

He’s lucky because he gets a meal and a bed every night,

and because of that, he really is quite bright!

Duggie’s funny when we go on our walks,

he rolls around like a fish on land!

When he’s hot, he likes to lay in front of my big white fan.

He is a cute little Chihuahua,

and I really think he’s quite wowza! ❤

Valentine’s Day…

Written by Flossy, October 2019 (Aged 11).

Hooray! Hooray! Time to shoot arrows at everyone, all day!

Give out chocolates, in big love-heart shaped boxes.

Give them out, share them around.

Put on your shoes, coat and make-up,

then take a friend, and go do some shopping!

Well, if you don’t want to break up;

buy some roses, but don’t give them out up in the sky.

You might get kicked out of the plane, oh my!

Write a long letter to your love;

Ooh! And then you look up, to see cute white doves!

Wow! Lucky you? But, oh no! It turns out they don’t like you!

Then they do two big poops on the chocolates you bought!

Poop flavoured chocolate, YUCK that’s gross! ….🤪

Right Now, Right Here…

Written by Flossy, November 2018 (Aged 10)

Right now, right here,

I can hear you from my ear.

However loud the wind blows,

My hearing never ever goes.

Right now, right here,

I can see you standing there.

I never come into your room,

So, I don’t think it’s fair.

Right now, right here,

I hear you knocking on the door.

The next minute, I hear the creaking of the floor,

I hear you coming where I am, very still.

Right now, right here,

I give you a great whacking from the pan.

Your blood is dripping on the floor,

Until someone opens the creaking door.

Right now, right here,

I try to hide as fast as I can.

I suddenly wish I did not hit you with the pan.

I am hiding away, still; until I hear sirens play.

Right now, right here,

I wonder where that human went?

I wonder what seeing that human meant?

I come back out, from my hiding spot.

Right now, right here,

That serves you right,

Never come out when a ghost is in sight!… 👻

The ocean is blue

Lots of fish go swimming too

I like the dolphins. 🦈

MUM

Written by Flossy February 2019 (Aged 10).

Mum, you make me feel loved.

Often, I catch myself doing something right,

I then realise that you’re the one who taught it to me…

It’s more than a blessing to have you as my Mother,

It’s an honour, a privilege to be your child.

Nobody, not even me, could tell you how amazing you are,

Both as a person, as a Mother….

We sometimes have arguments and both do cry,

But we always come back together-

You give great cuddles!

I’m luckier than a lottery winner, to have you as my Mother.

No woman can ever take your place in my heart,

Because you are my one and only, Mum!

There’s one thing you should always remember,

I will love YOU always and forever…

You are the most generous person in my life,

Words are not enough to describe how much I appreciate you.

I thank-you for everything you have done,

Throughout all the years and beyond…

Love your second Daughter, Flossy. 💕

The Chick…

(Written by Flossy 02.10.20)

Peck! Peck! Peck!

Oh, the soft white egg.

Out comes a tiny beak

Out comes a little wing,

Then comes a leg!

How does the chick

Who’s never been about,

Knows the trick of how

To get right out…

My Flossy chook…

(Written by Flossy 03.10.20)

I once had a Flossy

She was a sweet chook, but a bit bossy.

The prettiest we had ever seen

She even washed her feathers and kept the chook house clean.

She went to the shed to get us some mix, it was sometimes sour

But was always back within the hour.

Flossy baked in the sun, until she was warm

Hope those flies didn’t begin to swarm!

She sometimes brewed me some ginger ale

Right from the old metal pale.

She sat by my side near the bon-fire

And clucked me a fine tune, but her voice was a bit dire…

I loved my Flossy so, And do miss her everyday though…🐓🐣🐥
