Hello… Mister C and Me here…

Hello! Guess what? Our one hundred and forty-third blog is a day early this week (wow!). Not due to super organisational skills or anything like that mind you (I wish); tomorrow is Widy’s eighteenth birthday (yay!) and we are both getting some ink done (sounds fun huh?). We have birthday plans to drive down to ACT, to visit Widy’s twin brother Liam first, who was laid to rest (ashes) at ‘Norwood Park’ back in 2006 (forever missed). Mister C came up to me yesterday and said, “Mummy, you need to take a toy to give to Liam again this year. Here’s my blue racing car, I want you to give it to him.” It was very heartfelt and is a nice way the kids can be a part of celebrating Liam’s very short life. We are then getting some ink done together (Widy wants me to go first), as a part of Widy’s birthday celebrations, later in the morning. We will also see Husband, who will be working in the city (usual workplace), for a late Chinese lunch (Widy’s favourite) together afterwards (a busy but good day planned- hopefully).

For those who don’t like tattoos (tats)- that’s okay; this type of artistic expression is not for everyone and we understand that. We do however like this kind of expression and of course, I couldn’t say no to Widy, having numerous tats myself (how could I?). Since having my very first tattoo way back in the early nineties (small Chinese symbol on my outer right ankle), as an eighteenth birthday present for myself too (a little risky back then), technology and autoclave cleaning advances have secured this form of body-art into now being a (mostly) safe worldwide practice in today’s climate. Of course, finding the right tattoo artist is paramount, of which we have done so in ACT (this time). Widy is looking forward to the experience and fingers crossed everything will work out fine (will keep all posted).

Due to a few busy days with Widy’s birthday, work and school events, here’s a few more words from Mister C instead (enjoy!).

We were all having tea outside on the patio (earlier in the year), sitting around the glass outdoor dining table. Dad was chatting about a documentary he had been watching on TV that afternoon, about finding the ‘Titanic’ (sunken voyager ship-back in April 1912). We all know Dad loves all things about the ‘Titanic’ (just as much as US Presidents), Widy smiled and said, “What is all the fuss about that big ship anyway?” Mister C then said, “Well, I think that big ship was sunken by the giant squid!” We all laughed and I replied, “Oh, really, my son; is there such a thing as a giant squid? The ‘Titanic’ is a very important maritime event in our history. The large ship was built so huge and wonderful, it wasn’t meant to sink!” Dad nodded and then replied, “Giant squids can be as big as thirteen meters and one could have actually damaged the hull of the ‘Titanic’!” Mister C giggled, “Yeah, see, it was the giant squid after all!” All laughed… 🦑

Mister C was watching TV in the lounge room, the big tipper truck arrived with the big load of mulch we had purchased from the local sand and gravel company for delivery. Mister C stood up and said, “Wow, Mummy, that’s a big tipper. Is it bringing lots of goodies to our place? What’s it all for?” I nodded and replied, “yes, my son, the truck is delivering all of the mulch for our garden. Will you please help me to move some mulch onto our new garden beds, I created yesterday?” Mister C frowned then replied, “Oh, maybe next year, Mummy!” He then began to giggle. I laughed and replied, “It is now the next year, my son. You can now please help; I need some help and you’re a strong, super cool boy!” Mister C smiled, “Yes, I am. I will, but you will have to pay me two-hundred ‘Robux’!… “Oh, okay, it’s a deal then!” I then replied, giving the cheeky young man a big gardening hug… 🚜

A Word from Mister C…

Mister C was excited about Widy’s upcoming birthday and had grand plans to give her eighteen hugs the following morning. “Gee, I can’t believe you’re nearly an adult, Widy,” Misters C exclaimed, “You’re really turning eighteen!” We all laughed and I replied, “Yes, all grown-up now. Widy’s getting some ink done tomorrow to celebrate it!” Mister C frowned, “What does getting ink done actually mean, Mummy?” Widy smiled and replied, “Like Mum with her tattoos, I’m getting a small one on my wrist too.” Mister C looked worried, “How come you want to do that for your birthday? Won’t that hurt? The ink won’t rub off, don’t you know?!” Smiling at Widy, I then replied, “It may sting for just a short time. Widy wants to remember Liam on their actual birth-day.” Mister C frowned again, “Oh, that might be good. I don’t think I want to turn eighteen anymore, if I have to get ink done too. I don’t think I’d be able to take the pain!” All laughed… 🎂

Stay tuned…

For some warmer and sillier stories over the coming months; Mister C is turning the fabulous ten soon (lots of stories there!). We look forward to showing all a sneak peak of our next sixth book cover design illustration very soon (when I can find the time to get the image completed!). Thanks for your continued support, we love you reading our blogs each week! Hugs Me and Mister C… 😁

Mister C and I live in a rural town in NSW Australia, with Mister C's Dad and his two big sisters. We have an acreage with an old homestead, that we have been renovating over the past five years (a lot of work!). I am a registered nurse working in private nursing in NSW. I enjoy caring for people in our community, it is a very unique area to live. Mister C is now nine years old now, and is in year four at primary school. He loves super-heroes, building bricks ('Lego'), jumping really high on our trampoline at home and playing with our sweet pets. He has a big imagination and dreams a lot about interesting and funny stuff. We have two sweet doggies named 'Rhetti' and 'Niki', many chickens (lots of names there), three beautiful painted finches, named 'Red', 'Robin' & 'Ruby'. We have many wild animals that like to visit on a regular basis, like 'Bluey' the blue tongue lizard, 'Baby Poss', our resident brush tail possum, our family of king parrots, named 'George', 'Mildred' and 'Gilbert', 'Freddy' our resident green frog and family of noisy magpies, named 'Monte', Maggie', 'Carlo and the new twins. Pastimes for me include painting (anything), reading, illustrating, playing board games with Mister C and the girls, and of course writing (lots of writing!). Without children the world would be a quiet place!...
