It’s a birthday hello from Me and Mister C!

Hiya! Well, today I turn another year older (happy to report it is still below the BIG fifty!). Mister C came jumping into my office bedroom (yes, still no carpet in the flood damaged bedroom yet!) and declared, “I love you, Mummy! Happy twenty-second birthday on this second day on Tuesday, on twenty-two, two, two thousand and twenty-two!” He hopped onto my camp-bed and gave me a big Mister C hug. “Thanks, my son, I love you too! It’s going to be a great two day today on Tuesday!” Mister C grinned and replied, “Yes, it is, Mummy. Gee, I love this camp-bed, I can swap with you if you like?” Widy popped her head in and flicked the light switch on and off two times and said, “Happy two birthday, Mum. I hope you have fun to-day!” Mister C ran out saying he was going to get the two cards he had made for me (so cute- what more did I need?!).

Flossy had taken the doggies out for their morning wee and came back in, she also popped her head into the office, “Are you awake, Mum? Happy two birthday! Don’t forget to listen to the radio at 7:50am this morning, for your surprise!” I sat up and said, “Hi, my Flossy, thanks! Yes, let’s go listen now-we don’t want to miss the surprise.” Flossy made me a coffee and we all sat in the dining room, listening to my favourite radio for the surprise to happen. At approximately 7:50am, the radio announcer soon called out, It’s now time for the birthday book!” I knew right away the surprise was my name being said on the radio today! I was thrilled to hear the lovely message and to have had this surprise (thanks so much my sweet Flossy for arranging it- you have made my day!) and thanks ‘Eagle FM’ too! …

Husband has been away (for work) since Sunday and was due back this morning, to help celebrate the day with me. Husband requested an annual leave day from work last week (thanks husband and work), so we could spend some quality time together today (doesn’t happen very often). Husband pointed out, as it was my birthday (so good), I could choose what we did today. Still undecided (too much to choose from?), we had a choice of going out for lunch (yum) or going to the movies; I didn’t really mind, it was just refreshing for neither of us to have to work today. I finally decided (it does take time!) and booked a nice lunch for two at two pm (naturally!) at the lovely (and newly renovated) ‘Rose’s Café’ here in town. The kids and I set up the dining room early this morning (with balloons and banners), for a special two party later on this evening (so much fun to celebrate it together!).

As you may have already noticed, today is a special date (22.02.22) for me and others, who celebrate this birth date (even more so for those celebrating their twenty-second birthday!); also, being on Tuesday it is another special number two too! I recall, I think I was born after midday, but not at two pm (drat). According to Chinese numerology, the number two is meant to be …’Considered to be lucky as the Chinese believe that all good things come in pairs. This is observed in repeated characters in some brand names or gifts.’ (https://www.chinahighlights.com/travelguide/culture/lucky-number-8.htm). In other interesting numerology, the number two… ‘Is known to numerologists as a supremely feminine force, one that represents both grace and power. It is cooperative, always aiming to bring peace and balance back to a relationship or situation (does sound uncannily a lot like me!) This Numerology number is also very sensitive of all the numbers, it has the strongest intuition. It is able to sense currents and feelings instinctively, then use these clues to connect with others empathically.’ (https://www.numerology.com/articles/about-numerology/single-digit-number-2-meaning/).

Due to it being my birthday today (yes- I already wrote that!), the blog will be a shortened version (thanks for your understanding- the fam doesn’t want me sitting at the laptop writing most of my day), I have included a few funny words from Flossy and Mister C stories at the end instead, for a bit of a laugh (enjoy!). Also, this is our one hundred and twentieth blog this week (so many twos!); and don’t forget to check out this week’s drawing- it’s a little funny…

Flossy funny… Flossy was busy helping to pack up some items from her old room (last year); she was moving into the other room near the bathroom, as Widy was finally able to move down to her new extension bedroom. Mister C was then moving into Flossy’s old room- eventually. Flossy was looking at her phone while holding one of her old teddy bears in her other hand. I heard Flossy call out something and I started to giggle and said, “Did you say, teddy bear stop, Flossy?” Flossy looked up at me and replied, “Huh, what was that, Mum? Oh, no, I said teddy bear you are so soft!” We burst into laughter; I really did wonder what the teddy bear was doing to Flossy!…

A word from Mister C… Having breakfast one morning, we were all chatting about the New Year. Firstly, Dad said, “It’s going to horrid! I’m gonna have to think about my job and whether I stay or leave soon!… Oh, I’m only kidding, the New Year is going to be a good one, I can feel it in my bones!”… Mister C then said, “I don’t think much about this New Year; I’ll be glad when this year is over and the nasty Covid bugs leave our world alone for good!” … Flossy sighed, then said, “It’s a New Year; I hope this one is better than the last. At least I won’t be the new kid on the block at high school anymore! Year eight is looking great!” … Widy finished her mouthful then said, “It’s just another year, but I can’t wait to turn the big eighteen this year, so that’s good!” … I sighed then replied, “Well, I hope it’s going to be a good one. There’s lots of twos for me this year, that must be a good sign, don’t you think?” (Little did we know what would be gushing around the corner- one week later with the floods!) …

Another word from Mister C… In bed one Sunday morning (last year), Mister C had climbed in for morning hugs, he rolled over and sighed, then whispered, “Did you know, Mummy, you’re really old when you can’t see anymore!” I yawned then looked over at Mister C, “Oh, really, my son. How is that so? Don’t you know some people are sadly born with no sight?” Mister C sat up, then replied, “Yes I know, but when you’re born, you can’t see and when you’re a real salty codger, you can’t see either! Mister C sighed and then continued, “Also, when you’re a baby- like I was, you start off not being able to walk; but then when you’re much older, you soon can’t walk either!” Scratching my head, I replied, “Oh dear, my son; just as well we aren’t any of those ages anymore and yet!” Mister C giggled, as I tickled him in the tummy…

A Word from Mister C…

Flossy and Mister C were chatting in the kitchen. I walked into the dining area and Mister C said, “It’s your birthday soon, Mummy; are we doing a surprise or something good? Flossy nodded and replied, “Yes, Dad and I have arranged a surprise with the local radio station on Tuesday!” I smiled and said, “Oooh, I wonder what it could be; a song for me?!” Mister C then said, “Flossy said you were turning forty-eight, Mummy.” I looked up and frowned, “No, I’m not! I’m a low twenty-two soon!” Mister C nodded and then said, “That’s right, Mummy, you turned twenty-one last year, so that makes it right with my math!” I giggled and said, “Thanks, my son; some days I feel older than that, but I think I look younger now with my long hair again.” … “Yes, it does, Mum,” Flossy said smiling. ‘So, you need to be up by 7:45am on Tuesday for your surprise- don’t forget now?!” I smiled back, “Oh, I wonder what it is? Thanks, my Flossy, we all love surprises!” Mister C gave me a hug and said, “Yes, you deserve a surprise Mummy; it’s a special day with all the number two’s this year and on a Tuesday too, the second day of the week- WOW!” All laughed…🎈🎈

Stay tuned…

Mister C and I live in a rural town in NSW Australia, with Mister C's Dad and his two big sisters. We have an acreage with an old homestead, that we have been renovating over the past five years (a lot of work!). I am a registered nurse working in private nursing in NSW. I enjoy caring for people in our community, it is a very unique area to live. Mister C is now nine years old now, and is in year four at primary school. He loves super-heroes, building bricks ('Lego'), jumping really high on our trampoline at home and playing with our sweet pets. He has a big imagination and dreams a lot about interesting and funny stuff. We have two sweet doggies named 'Rhetti' and 'Niki', many chickens (lots of names there), three beautiful painted finches, named 'Red', 'Robin' & 'Ruby'. We have many wild animals that like to visit on a regular basis, like 'Bluey' the blue tongue lizard, 'Baby Poss', our resident brush tail possum, our family of king parrots, named 'George', 'Mildred' and 'Gilbert', 'Freddy' our resident green frog and family of noisy magpies, named 'Monte', Maggie', 'Carlo and the new twins. Pastimes for me include painting (anything), reading, illustrating, playing board games with Mister C and the girls, and of course writing (lots of writing!). Without children the world would be a quiet place!...
